A solemn family gathering turned into a nightmare on Tuesday morning when a private bus rear-ended a car near Mura Junction, seriously injuring three passengers on board.

“The bus hit the car with tremendous force from behind. The entire rear side was crushed,” said Sharan Poojary, a roadside shop owner who witnessed the incident.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that an iron rod was used to pry open the jammed doors of the crushed car. With time critical and injuries mounting, the volunteers managed to safely extract all three passengers before emergency responders arrived.

“We couldn’t wait for official help—every second mattered,” said Ramesh Shetty, a local who helped move the child from the backseat. “The girl was bleeding from the head and had glass shards on her hands.”
